About the event

Succession planning is the single most important responsibility that a board of directors, of any not-for-profit organization, should consider when thinking of Change Management and how to minimize the impact that changes in the workforce bring to their organization. Yet, many organizations and their leadership are paralyzed when thinking of succession planning.

Join ODEN as we host Terry Cooke, outgoing President and CEO of the Hamilton Community Foundation as we sit down to speak to him on the importance of succession planning.

Terry will bring his insight and experience and will help us understand the importance of radical transparency and courage to have conversations about “expiration dates” on leaders’ shelf-life of service. Terry will use his experience as an outgoing leader on the need for swift but well-planned transition plans to encourage the new leadership to build their own culture within the organization, and he will offer his perspective on the need for organizations to establish guidelines on leadership tenure length.

We look forward to this honest and insightful conversation on the power of embracing change.
